Yes, it happens every spring. Baseball season begins and New York has two exciting teams. The venerable Yankees will try to, once again, make the playoffs. The New York Mets will try to defend their National League title while going forward to a World Series Win. Besides getting tickets to Yankee Stadium and Citi field, you can book a tour of the stadiums and see what goes on behind the scenes at the ballparks. Both venues have areas where team history abounds, most notably Monument Park at Yankee Stadium where you can see the tributes to Hall of Famers like Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle and Yogi Berra. Our guides at Walk NYC Tour have extensive knowledge at both Yankee Stadium and Citi Field and can enhance your visit with anecdotes and NYC baseball history.

Now through May 28th come see the interactive Butterfly Conservatory where you walk among butterflies of every color as they flitter around the dense foliage. Also through August 13 th , you canexplore Cuba’s unique culture and biodiversity in a special exhibit called !Cuba!

The UWS has many sites to discover …the statue of Joan of Arc on Riverside Drive and 93rd Street, dedicated in 1915, is the first statue that depicts a real woman. A few blocks north at 106th Street is the memorial to the victims of the Titanic. Built to honor Isadore and Ida Strauss, who owned Macy’s department store, the statue is maintained by their family. On Broadway at 79th Street is the Apthrop building which is one block square and where Al Pacino once called home. The Ansonia Hotel built in 1899, this Beaux Arts building was once the home of Babe Ruth, Angelina Jolie, Walt Kelly and Natalie Portman. It was known as the “hotel with a farm on the roof,” because for years goats, chicken and dairy cows were kept on the roof and the eggs and milk were collected daily to feed the hotel guests.

Book a tour with Walk NYC Tour and the fascinating world of the Upper West Side will come alive!
